Jasmine Donahue

Atlanta, GA

Jasmine Donehue was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. She graduated from Dutchtown High School, Class of 2019, with Latin honors of Manga Cum Laude. She is now continuing her education at the illustrious Tuskegee University where she is majoring in Aerospace Science Engineering. Jasmine is also in pursuit of becoming an officer in the Air Force by participating in the Air Force ROTC program. Her hard work earned her a Tuskegee Achievement Scholarship as well as the Type 1 AFROTC scholarship.

Jasmine was interested in flight ever since she was young. Whenever her family would fly, she always claimed the window seat because she adored the wonders of above. Although becoming a pilot was not always a dream of hers, during her freshman year of college she was introduced to a classroom full of dedicated future black pilots, working hard to fulfill the legacy of the remarkable Tuskegee Airmen. This helped motivate her to dive deeper into the world of aviation.

Her pilot training started in March 2021, during her sophomore year. She trained with the foundation as a You Can Fly Scholar, a program funded by the Air Force. Her scholarship was coming to an end, but after showcasing her hard work and dedication of flying, Jasmine was able to become an official Red Tail Scholar in October of 2021. She is currently working towards her Private Pilot Certificate.
